What we are looking for from writers who’d like to guest-post on our site …
You can submit a rough draft, a partial draft, or a short pitch … If you are sending us a short pitch, please send us a paragraph or two summarizing your article idea and why it will be ideal for our readers, paired with an outline. The more complete your submission is, of course, the better feedback we can give you. Do please keep in mind that we only accept original content. We don’t publish anything that’s been published elsewhere (including on your own blog). Please don’t send us any press releases or sales pitches.
We publish articles of anywhere between 1,500–2,500 words … As you will see from our own style, the articles need to have a good keyword topic/phrase around which they are written, with a smart, catchy headline, an opening paragraph, clearly laid out subheadings and text and a conclusion if it’s warranted. We’d love to receive articles that are on topics of “evergreen value”. Submitted articles must be grammatically sound and preferably with American-English spellings.
Our target audiences include Aspirant, Amateur & Achiever solopreneurs … That includes: people who are thinking of becoming solopreneurs; those who are starting as solopreneurs; and those who are already running businesses as solopreneurs. You can write for any of these three audience sets. While the content needs to have authority and depth (and be supported with charts or graphs where appropriate) – it must also be written in a style that is not too stiff-necked. Your article must sound friendly, but empower the audience for whom you are writing it.
Please read these instructions on how to submit your work … Send us your article as a Microsoft Word .doc file. We do not need HTML markups. We allow one editorial backlink (do follow) in the text of your article back to your own site. We also do not require you to send us an image (the main image) to go with the article, as we will select one that matches the tone of our site and brand. Images like charts, graphs or graphics that support points made in the article must be supplied by you, with attributions and links to the original source. These images should be either in the .png or .jpg formats.
Please read these instructions about author bios … Please also send us your author bio of about 40 to 50 words length. You can include one backlink (again, do follow) from the author bio to the home page of your site. Author bios should be accompanied by one author photo of size 400px x 400px (your Twitter photo should be just right, but no cartoon images or avatars please). Author bios should be snappy, informative, and brief. For example, see the one below:

Please submit your articles/pitches to email@example.com. If we like and approve of your idea/article, we will usually revert within 5-7 working days, with suggestions for any changes, or to suggest a final deadline date. If we are not using your article we will tell you that too – so you’re not left hanging in mid-air.
Once we get the final article from you, we will let you know the date of publication. Please do not chase us regarding your article submissions, as we are usually prompt (unless there’s a hurricane in our part of the world). What else? Nothing we can think of for now … so go ahead, and get cracking! Good luck!
